Memoir

When I had to create a painting around a Memoir theme I could not stop thinking about the times when the book was my safe haven. I didn't want to dwell on the cruelty of the past but rather capture that memory of feeling safe and as if everything was possible.

Book and closed eyes symbolize the deep connection between her inner world and the stories she holds dear. The flowers surrounding her bloom vibrantly, representing the beauty and fragility of memories that shape her identity. The warm, golden hues of the sunset in the background evoke a sense of nostalgia, as the day fades into twilight, much like how memories shift and change over time.

This painting is a visual memoir, inviting viewers to reflect on their own cherished moments—those stories that are held close, often revisited in quiet contemplation. The scene is a reminder of the personal narratives we carry within us, and how they blossom, intertwining with the beauty of life’s fleeting yet precious moments✨🍃❤️
